First of our mental health sessions

1–2 minutes

On Monday’s parade night, 13 of our cadets took part in the first of a series of mental health sessions run by an external provider. The topic we covered was sleep hygiene and we talked as a group about our sleep habits such as:

  • what affects our sleep,
  •  how sleep can impact our health and wellbeing,
  • ideas to improve sleep,
  • why a good sleep routine is vitally important for young people.

We had some wonderful engagement from the group and cadets came away with at least one thing they learned and are going to consider doing differently.

We will be working with our external provider through 2025 on a number of topics. There is an opportunity for 1:1 mental health support which would be facilitated through your young persons school/college for anyone who may benefit. Please drop an email in confidence to me on caroline.berry100@rafac.mod.gov.uk if you think this would benefit your cadet.
