The process for joining us is very simple but differs slightly for Cadets and Adult Volunteers.

The next recruitment window will be: March 2026

Cadets

Step 1 – Register your interest by clicking this link.

Step 2 – You will be invited to attend an open evening with your parents / guardians where you will be introduced to the staff team, receive an information briefing, get a chance to see the cadets in action and have an opportunity to ask any questions.

Step 3 – If you decide to join, you will receive an information pack with all the necessary paperwork we need completing to register you and order your uniform.

Step 4 – You will start on the date of your next intake working with all the other new recruits and begin your Cadet career.

Are there any costs to join?

Yes, all cadets are to pay a monthly membership of £17. In addition to this, there is a joining fee of £30 which covers the uniform.

Adult Volunteers

The role of an adult volunteer is extremely rewarding and each person will adopt their own unique place in the Squadron depending on skills, time and interests.

Some will want to move into uniform and stand in front of the Squadron on parade, others would rather sit behind the scenes helping with training or paperwork.

We need enthusiastic and committed people who are willing and able to help our young people enjoy their experience.

If that’s you, please register your interest here where you will be invited in for an informal interview. Providing you are a good fit, we’ll process your DBS paperwork and you will start finding your way in the Squadron under the support of our fantastic team of experienced instructors.

Important note. You do not need to have served in any branch of the military, you just need a few hours each week and a passion for helping young people achieve.
