| All cadets and recruits will be taking part in our Sponsored Endurance Challenge where the squadron will work together to complete a combined total of at least 1,330km by cycling, rowing, walking or running through March. The challenge will end with a 24-hour kilometre Booster Challenge at the squadron from 18:00 hrs Friday 28 March to 18:00 Sat 29 March. This event is the first in our huge fundraising effort to support upcoming trips and activities and to keep the costs as low as possible for everyone. During the booster challenge we will be using static exercise bikes and rowing machines. as well as doing some running and walking around the grounds of the barracks. We also ask that all cadets contribute to the total distance in their own time. Cadets can start this challenge from Saturday 01 March and every kilometre counts. Cadets (and staff) will be asked to log their progress regularly via an online form. Booster challenge – Event Details: Date: Friday 28 March – Saturday 29 March Location: Peninsula Barracks Time: Starts at 18:00 (Friday) – Ends at 18:00 (Saturday) This extra challenge will be a fantastic opportunity for cadets to build teamwork, resilience, and determination—while having plenty of fun along the way! Please be reassured that the challenge will be completed in a relay during this period, and from 23:00– 07:00 they will all be resting. Can’t stay overnight? No Problem.If your cadet is unable to take part in the overnight challenge, they can still contribute to the endurance challenge in their own time. Parent Action Required:We will assume all cadets will be contributing to the overall challenge, but we do need to know who will be attending the 24-Hour Challenge and ask you to complete the short form👉 here Deadline for responses: Thursday 13 March Additional Information: Cadets will be provided with handy QR codes so they can quickly track their distances and use to collect sponsorship. Sponsorship will be collected via my Just Giving page to reduce the handling of cash and so we can track progress against our ambitious target. Cadets should bring sleeping gear (sleeping bag, roll mat, pillow) and comfortable sportswear for the 28/29 March challenge. Food and refreshments will be provided throughout the booster event, you may want to bring a water bottle TG21 and TG23 forms will need to be completed ahead of the event.
